"Workshopped Play Rectitude Shows a Glimmer of Brilliance in Its Character Study of Two Catholics."

ABOUT RECTITUDE
Father Ed Murray has been a priest for 50 years. On the morning he’s saying goodbye to his longtime housekeeper, Mary Shaughnessy, he receives a mysterious visitor in the rectory who forces him to confront his past with Mary. When she arrives, the three debate what they’ve done and argue for salvation.

Congrats!

Telling Humans founding member Judy Lea Steele, 2022 O'Neiil National Playwrights Conference semi-finalist for her play Gerutha & Margaret.

In an undetermined place and time, Gerutha (Gertrude of Hamlet fame) invites Margaret (Henry VI trilogy, Richard III fame) to coffee as they “share more than they know” and she wants Margaret’s help. The two women, who mirror each other in the duality of their external public persona and internal actual persona, establish a kinship through their shared anger over Shakespeare’s hijack of their lives and the subsequent erasure of their actual life stories. Via a spiraling conversational, confrontational journey, their actual stories are revealed, shifting their external and internal duality and forcing them to confront the grim price paid for taking agency in a world designed, dominated and controlled by the patriarchy.

About Corozón Cicatrizado

"Entre la celebración del nacimiento de México y el regreso de sus muertos, 6 vidas colisionan en un taller de piñatas en la Ciudad de México. Cambiarán para siempre con inesperado dolor, amor y saneamiento mientras los límites del mundo humano y el de los espíritus se vuelven difusos."
